Choosing what to tap on
Using a reminder phrase
The short handle that keeps you on target.
By the end of this lessonShorten any setup statement into a reminder phrase.
The reminder phrase is a few words from your setup statement — 'this Monday dread', 'this tight chest' — repeated at each point in the sequence.
Its only job is to keep your attention on the target. Minds wander fast; without the phrase you end up tapping on nothing in particular.
It can change as you go: if the dread turns into anger halfway through, the phrase should become 'this anger'.
