The mechanics
How much pressure to use
Firm, gentle, about seven taps each.
By the end of this lessonTap with the right pressure and rhythm without thinking about it.
Use two or three fingertips. Tap firmly enough to feel it clearly, gently enough that it would never leave a mark. Think of knocking on a door you don't want to break.
About seven taps per point is the standard — anywhere from five to nine is fine. The count is a rhythm, not a rule; the point is to stay there long enough to finish your sentence.
Skip or lighten any point that's sore, injured or irritated. Tapping harder does not make it work better.
